There are actually quite a few different reasons to use cloth, the most important because they are a healthy alternative to disposable pads and tampons. The F Wrap cloth pads are natural and chemical free.
Not only are cloth pads better for your health, but think of the environment. Our planet could use less waste and this is an easy way to do that. We all know the benefits of cloth diapers, right? Cloth pads are no different. Less waste is better for everyone.Another benefit for you, of course, is cost. Just think of the money you will save not having to buy disposable pads and/or tampons every month. If cared for properly, your cloth pads will last you years!
To prevent stains, rinse your cloth pads immediately after use, or as soon as it's convenient (it's ok if they have been dry-stored in your wetbag all day or even for a few days). Give them a quick rub with a laundry bar/stain stick as soon as you can for extra stain prevention. Then, they can be stored in a wetbag, or laundry hamper until wash day. When you’re ready to wash your pads, they can be machine washed in any water temperature you choose. Hot water is recommended as long as they have been pre-rinsed or soaked in cold water first. Otherwise, hot water may set in stains. Naturally dry your pads by laying flat or hanging. This will keep them looking newer longer, plus it’s better for our planet. The only thing you can not do is use fabric softener or bleach. This will decrease the absorbency of your pads.
For an extra deep-clean, add some hydrogen peroxide to a pre-soak or add directly onto pads to remove stains. This is recommended if your pads begin to smell or if you have experienced any vaginal infections, like a yeast infection.
There is a wide variety of sizes and absorbency to choose from because every woman is different. Six lengths* are available: Thong (7.25″), Petite (7.5″), Short (9.5″), Long (10.5″), Super (12.5″) and Oversize (16″).
Absorbency options available are: Light, Regular, Heavy, Super and Super+.
For easy reference, we created a size and absorbency chart HERE.
This is a tricky question because it all depends on your level of flow. As an estimate, you can expect to change your pad every 4 – 6 hours, or four times a day. A heavy – super absorbency pad will get you through the night up to 12 hours. This means for the average woman a supply or stash of 15 - 20 pads is enough to get you through your period without needing to wash.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the product, returns are not accepted. However, if you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason we encourage you to contact us. We will work with you and do what we can to find a solution.
